Foundation Crack Repair in Connecticut

A foundation crack and a water problem need to be looked at together. CRL reviews visible exterior cracks, where water enters, and how the surrounding ground drains before defining the repair scope.

Defined scope. Clear communication.Hamden · New Haven County · Connecticut

Start with the crack—and the water around it

A wet wall does not tell the whole story. Surface runoff, downspout discharge, soil against the foundation and the condition of the exterior wall can all affect the work needed. Share where you see the crack, when water appears, and whether the problem changes after rain. CRL can review the outside access and the related drainage work as part of one estimate.

An exterior repair scope

01

Excavation and access

Review access beside the building, nearby improvements and the area that must be exposed. Excavation limits and restoration belong in the written scope.

02

Exterior wall sealing

Review visible cracks and wall openings once the affected exterior area is accessible, then define the sealing and waterproofing work for the exposed wall.

03

Drainage board and footing drains

Coordinate the wall treatment with drainage board and footing-drain work where those items are included in the approved plan.

04

Regrading and buried downspouts

Review surface grades and downspout routing so the surrounding water-control work supports the foundation repair.

05

Backfill and site restoration

Define how the excavation, disturbed grades and affected surfaces will be restored before work begins.

Know what the estimate covers

This service focuses on exterior access, sealing, waterproofing and water control. A crack can also involve movement or a structural concern; photos alone do not establish its cause. CRL will review the requested work before confirming project fit. Interior crack injection, foundation underpinning and bowing or settling wall correction are not included in this exterior service description.

Helpful details for your free estimate

01

Show both sides when accessible

Send a wider photo of the affected area and a close-up of the visible crack. Include the outside wall and adjacent ground if you can photograph them safely.

02

Describe when it happens

Tell us whether the area stays damp, leaks during rain or collects runoff from a nearby paved surface or downspout.

03

Explain access and past work

Note fences, steps, decks, utilities, tight side yards and any previous sealing or drainage work you know about.

Let’s plan the work

Tell us about the property, the problem and your preferred timing. You get a written price before any work starts.
